Charles Flateman, Chair of the New York City Tourism + Conventions Board of Directors and Executive Vice President of The Shubert Organization, announced the election of five Board officers, four new Executive Committee members, and three new ex-officio members of the Board. The elections and appointments took place during the NYC Tourism + Conventions Board meeting on June 11, 2026, at The Louis Armstrong Dining Room at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
Board officers re-elected to a two-year term:
Chairman – Charles Flateman – Shubert Organization
Vice Chair – John Calvelli – Wildlife Conservation Society
Vice Chair – Melba Wilson – Melba's Restaurant
Treasurer – Daniel Nadeau – New York Marriott Marquis
Board officers newly elected to a two-year term:
Secretary – Sofia Vandaele – InterContinental New York Barclay
Newly appointed members of the Executive Committee are:
Rafael Espinal – NYC Mayor’s Office of Media & Engagement
Kenny Minaya – NYC Department of Small Business Services
Jennifer Montalvo – NYC Economic Development Corporation
Julie Su – Deputy Mayor of Economic Justice
New ex-officio members of the board are:
Harold Holzer – Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute at Hunter College
Tricia Shimamura – Department of Parks and Recreation
Lillian Bonsignore – Fire Department City of New York
These newly elected board officers, along with the new Executive Committee and ex-officio members, will help guide NYC Tourism + Conventions and continue to advance its work to strengthen tourism’s economic impact across all five boroughs.
