NEW YORK CITY TOURISM + CONVENTIONS BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTS NEW MEMBERS

New York City (March 1, 2024) – New York City Tourism + Conventions today announced the election of new board members, Executive Committee members and officers. The elections took place at the organization’s Board of Directors meeting held February 27, 2024. 

Charles Flateman was re-elected Board Chair for a two-year term. New board members elected to serve a two-year term: 

  • Adrian Benepe, President, Brooklyn Botanic Garden  

  • Sean M. Decatur, President, American Museum of Natural History  

  • Blanca Espinosa, Founder & CEO, White Rose Experiences  

  • Leah Johnson, EVP & Chief Communications, Marketing & Advocacy Officer, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts  

  • Liz Neumark, Founder & CEO, Great Performances  

  • KP Trueblood, President & COO, Brooklyn Museum  

  • Jessica Baker Vodoor, President & CEO, Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden  

  • Chris Wanlass, Vice President & General Manager, Nordstrom NYC  

Board members elected serve a two-year term on the Executive Committee:  

  • Tom Harris, President, Times Square Alliance 

  • Luis Miranda, Founding Partner, MirRam Group 

  • Tyler Morse, CEO & Managing Partner, MCR Development 

 Board members elected to serve as officers for a two-year term:    

  • Vice Chairs:  

    • John Calvelli, Executive Vice President & Founder, Wildlife Conservation Society 

    • Melba Wilson, Founder, Melba’s  

  • Treasurer: Marlene Poynder, Managing Director, The Caryle, A Rosewood Hotel  

  • Secretary: Daniel Nadeau, Area General Manager, New York Marriott Marquis 

Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso was also elected to serve a one-year rotation on the Executive Committee. All five borough presidents serve on the board and rotate annually to serve on the Executive Committee.  

These individuals join an esteemed group of local business leaders who serve on the New York City Tourism + Conventions Board of Directors. Leading with experience, integrity and vision, this group of industry experts helps uphold the organization’s mission to drive New York City’s economy through tourism. New York City’s economic recovery continued in 2023 with 61.8 million travelers arriving in New York City, marking a recovery of 93% of the City’s record 2019 visitation levels. Last year, New York City tourism generated $74 billion in economic impact across the five boroughs. The City is currently on pace to attract 64 million travelers by the end of 2024.
