Founded by NYC Campaign
In honor of New York City’s 400th anniversary, NYC Tourism is celebrating the City’s legacy of creativity and influence throughout 2025 with our Founded by NYC campaign. This summer, NYC Restaurant Week joins the festivities.
Participating restaurants are invited to show their NYC pride and spotlight the innovation that has long defined the City’s culinary scene by featuring a “Founded by NYC” dish or cocktail on their prix-fixe menu. This could be a menu item that originated in NYC (e.g., Waldorf Salad, Delmonico’s Steak, Manhattan, cheesecake) or a Signature Dish your restaurant is known for.
Restaurants that choose to participate may receive added exposure through press outreach, social media promotion, and special highlights on the NYC Restaurant Week website. To learn more about the Founded by NYC campaign and access logos please refer to the Founded by NYC Business Toolkit.
PROMOTION Promotion of the program will include, among other things, out of home (LinkNYC, bus shelters), paid search, paid social, NYC Tourism-owned channels (website, email, social), and partner channels (e.g. OpenTable). A public relations effort spotlighting the program and the participants will commence when reservations open to the public on July 15, 2025. A tool kit containing important assets, including program creative and helpful tips for social media will be included in your confirmation email after registering.
By participating, you agree to the aforementioned and New York City Tourism + Conventions Participation Agreement and Program Guidelines.
If you have any questions, please email nycrestweek@nyctourism.com.
New York City Tourism + Conventions reserves the right to accept or reject any business from the program. Any restaurant in the five boroughs may participate (excluding national fast food chains and dessert-only establishments). All submitted offers will be subject to review and approval. Your business may be removed from the program if found to be in violation of any program guidelines.
